‘Bigpond partners with Australian Government and SpamMATTERS’

Sydney, 30th May 2006 – Australia’s largest ISP, BigPond, has joined forces with SpamMATTERS and ACMA to support reporting of spamming activities to enforcement and regulatory agencies.

SpamMATTERS single-click reporting which is incorporated into Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express email programs is available to Bigpond customers and is accompanied by a single-click button for Telstra.com and BigPond WebMail users.

“SpamMATTERS applauds Bigpond in taking a leadership role for ISPs globally in actively working to address the source of spam and phishing rather than simply blocking or filtering,” said David Jones, CEO of SpamMATTERS.

About SpamMATTERS ( www.spammatters.com )

SpamMATTERS delivers technology and services to aid regulators, State Attorneys General, Internet Service Providers and Legal Practices in gathering evidence for legal action against spammers. The company was established in 2003 to support the emergence of state-based and federal Antispam legislation. Despite millions of dollars being spent in spam filtering technologies by ISPs, end-user and corporations the relentless increase in spam continues. At SpamMATTERS, we believe that whilst spam will never disappear, the pandemic can only be brought under control through good legislation and effective enforcement practice.
